Instrumental Ensembles

Baylor’s instrument ensembles are some of the most recognized in the country for their commitment to excellence and high musical standard.  Baylor ensembles are frequent guests at prestigious events such as the Texas Music Educators Association Convention, and the College Band Directors National Association Convention.  Students participating in Baylor ensembles are often afforded opportunities usually saved for professional ensembles.  In the Fall of 2010 the Baylor Chamber Orchestra took a multi-city tour of Belgium and the Wind Ensemble began a two year recording project with the end result being a full length professionally mastered CD.   The Spring semester brings guest artists such as professional trumpeters Terrell Stafford and Joey Tartell to give master classes and solo with the Jazz Ensemble, as the principal trombonist of the New York Philharmonic, Joseph Alessi, who will perform John Mackey’s “Harvest: Concerto for Trombone” with the Baylor Wind Ensemble in the Eisemann Center (Richardson, TX) during their April tour of the Dallas area.  For more information about Baylor Ensembles, visit the ensembles section of the school of music website.
